Research Interests

We are a membrane protein biophysics and biochemistry lab with an eye towards understanding signaling mechanisms and exploiting this newfound knowledge. We combine insights from structural biology (cryo-EM) with atomic-resolved receptor dynamics measurements via solution NMR to generate experimentally-determined thermodynamic models of receptor activity. In addition to mechanistic studies, we aim to use advanced screening approaches (including ultra-large DNA-encoded chemical libraries) to generate new chemical matter that can modulate membrane protein signaling properties in therapeutically desirable ways. Through method and tool development on all fronts, the lab will address fundamental gaps in both our understanding of receptor signaling and in drugs targeting these receptors in the clinic.
